Our Palm Heights panama hats are crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail. Made from 100% Carludovica Palmata leaves - also known as toquilla straw - a plant cultivated across Central America to Bolivia, our hats are handwoven by skilled artisans who take great pride in their work. In fact, it can take up to six weeks to weave and finish each hat, showcasing the level of craftsmanship that goes into every product we make.
Our hats are produced primarily by women in small weaving communities on the western coast of Ecuador, supporting local economies and preserving traditional methods of craftsmanship. To ensure the longevity of your hat, we recommend avoiding excessive contact with water. In the event of a stain, gently use a damp cloth to remove it and allow the hat to air dry.
